Dr. Eddie El-Yussif made Metropolitan Detroit his home in August of 2009 when he joined the medical staff of Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Raised in Fairfax County, Virginia, Dr. El-Yussif graduated with honors from The University of Virginia, received his medical degree at The Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Garden City Osteopathic Hospital (Garden City, MI), an affiliate of Michigan State University. He is a clinical instructor at Michigan State University School of Medicine.

During residency, he was a chief resident and took an active role in teaching his junior residents. He received top national honors for his research paper Distal Femur Fractures in Osteopenic Patients: Plates vs. Nails.

Following his residency, Dr. El-Yussif furthered his training in hip and knee arthroplasty alongside the pioneers of joint replacement, as a fellow of the world-renowned Anderson Orthopaedic Research Institute in Alexandria, VA. In his fellowship, Dr. El-Yussif studied the innovative techniques of minimally invasive total knee replacement, partial knee replacements, and complex hip and knee revision arthroplasty.
Dr. El-Yussif has an acute interest in implant technology and innovative joint replacement procedures. He looks to help revolutionize the implant and joint replacement techniques of the future while continuing to relieve pain and restore function for his joint replacement patients. He has a keen interest in partial knee replacements and Rapid Recovery, a program that allows patients to walk on the day of surgery.
In his free time, Dr. El-Yussif enjoys watching sports and exercising. He also likes traveling to warm places with his wife Lindsay, as well as attempting to improve his golf game.
